Itinerary

Bacina lakes kayaking is one of our most popular adventure tours. Formerly known as the Oasis of Serenity tour, this kayaking tour takes place in the beautiful nature of unique and beautiful Bacina lakes. It’s a group of seven lakes just a few minutes of driving from the city of Ploče. Once a very popular tourist place, Bacina lakes today are the place where you can find true peace, far from the crowded beaches and right into the heart of nature. Even in the high season. Six of the total of seven lakes are connected and together they form a place of unique beauty on the Adriatic coast. Bacina lakes kayaking tour is perfect for everyone, families, couples, or lone adventurers.

Apart from kayaking, there are other tours you can take while at Bacina lakes. In case you are coming to lakes by bike, we have good news for you. There is a newly made bike trail that goes all around the lakes. Bird watching point is part of this bike trail and it’s the best point to observe the rich natural life of Bacina lakes. Being on the edge of Neretva valley, lakes are very rich and abundant with every kind of wildlife, especially birds. There are more than 300 bird species in the wider Neretva area and many of them found their home right on Bacina lakes. A lot of them can be seen while kayaking as well.

When observed from the air, Bacina lakes seem to have a different watercolor and that is due to different soil compositions and vegetation on the bottom of the lake. Another peculiar thing you see while touring the lakes with us is a 2 kilometers long tunnel which was dug some 100 years ago to take away excess water from one large lake behind the hills. We’ll tell you more details about this tunnel while doing the tour, but have in mind that it’s dry during the summer and it’s possible to walk through it. Just an option to think about. If you are interested in doing so, let us know so we can give you some tips or prepare equipment for you.

Today, we are starting with kayaking tour in the beautiful nature of unique and beautiful Baćina  lakes, one hour ride with the car from Split or Dubrovnik. Baćina lakes kayaking tour starts at the beach in Peračko blato every morning at 9 AM and lasts for approximately 3 hours. It’s an easy kayaking tour, perfect for learning the basics of this outdoor activity. As the tour progresses, we’ll have special quests/challenges through which you’ll learn some new information or maybe master a new skill. We won’t go into the details but trust us, it’ll be fun. Kayaking as an activity is pretty easy and you shouldn’t worry about it even if you never saw a kayak in your life.

We then embark on the second part of our journey, passing near the water lily fields and through a narrow canal. A second break awaits us in a perfect small lagoon. It’s a swimming/picnic break at one of the calmest and beautiful places of Baćina lakes. We’ll put you some hammocks so you can enjoy the sounds of the cricket choir while gently swinging in a hammock. After the break, we head back to the starting point and you go home with a smile on your face. Simple as that.
