Ljubljana is a medium-sized European city. It’s a place where eastern and western cultures meet. In the late afternoon, taking the funicular or walking up to Ljubljana Castle is a great way to enjoy panoramic views over the city, especially around sunset. The castle area provides beautiful photo opportunities and a peaceful setting to take in the surrounding mountains and rooftops.

For the evening, visitors can enjoy dinner at one of the many restaurants along the river, where Slovenian cuisine blends Alpine, Mediterranean, and Balkan influences. The riverside becomes especially vibrant after dark, with outdoor terraces, softly lit streets, and a welcoming social atmosphere. After breakfast in the morning, we will take a tour of Ljubljana – “the capital of Slovenia”. Together with our guide, we walk through the old town district to explore many baroque buildings. The colorful farmer’s market,  the cathedral of St. Nicholas, the old medieval fortress which stands up there like an old guardian of the city.

After the city tour, we take you to Lake Bled.

The stunning blue lake in the heart of the town and the picture-postcard church on the island. A medieval castle clinging to a rocky cliff and some of the highest peaks of the Julian Alps. This Alpine lake has been a world-renowned paradise for centuries. Lookout at the lake from a castle on a cliff and visit the island on a traditional “pletna” boat (tickets not included, around 20 € per person).

The boat is navigated by “pletnar”, which is quite an esteemed vocation that cannot be done by anyone. During the reign of Maria Theresa the ownership rights for pletna boats were given to farmers who received poorer land for cultivation. The title of the pletna oarsman was handed down from generation to generation, which is why the profession of “Pletnarstvo” remained in individual families throughout the centuries. After breakfast transfer to the Famous Bled Vintgar, on which we will focus more on, as it deserves special attention for its breathtaking beauty. The Bled Vintgar Gorge is located in the immediate vicinity of Gorje between the Hom and Boršt hills and is about four kilometers northwest away from the center of Bled Experience the most intact nature of Bled in the first touristically arranged gorge in Slovenia. (tickets are not included, 10,00 eur per person).

The 1.6 km long Vintgar gorge carves its way through the vertical rocks of the Hom and Boršt hills and is graced by the Radovna with its waterfalls, pools and rapids. The picturesque trail leads you over wooden bridges and galleries, and ends with a bridge overlooking the mighty 13 m high Šum waterfall. Today we continue our journey toward Croatia with a stop at one of Slovenia’s most fascinating natural wonders — Postojna Cave. One of the largest underground cave systems in Europe, the caves stretch for more than 24 kilometers and reveal a spectacular world of limestone formations shaped over millions of years. During the visit, travelers will ride the famous underground train deep into the cave system before continuing on foot through vast chambers filled with stalactites, stalagmites, and dramatic rock formations. The caves are also home to the mysterious olm, often called the “human fish,” a rare amphibian that lives entirely in the underground waters of the Karst region.

After exploring the underground world of Postojna, the journey continues to the remarkable Predjama Castle, dramatically built into a 123-meter-high cliff. This Renaissance castle is one of the most unique and picturesque fortresses in Europe. For more than 700 years, the castle has guarded hidden cave passages and told stories of knights, legends, and medieval life. The most famous tale is that of the rebellious knight Erazem of Predjama, who used the castle’s secret tunnels to resist a long siege. Surrounded by cliffs, forests, and caves, the castle creates an unforgettable setting that feels almost like a scene from a fairy tale.

Following the visit, the trip continues toward Croatia, with changing landscapes gradually revealing the transition from Slovenia’s Karst region to the Adriatic atmosphere of the Croatian coast. Our next destination is the stunning Plitvice Lakes National Park, one of Croatia’s most famous natural treasures and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We start our morning in Zadar, with pickup directly from your hotel. After an early morning departure from Split, we travel inland toward Bosnia and Herzegovina, passing through rolling hills, quaint villages, and scenic landscapes along the way. Our destination is Mostar, one of the region’s most iconic and picturesque towns.

Following breakfast meet your driver at hotel lobby. Free time until it would be time for transfer to the airport. Drive to the airport from Dubrovnik takes around 45 minutes with normal traffic.
