Itinerary
Today, as your plane descends over Croatia, you will catch your first glimpse of the quintessentially Croatian the pearl of the Adriatic– Dubrovnik. Upon arrival, your driver will meet you and take you to your hotel for check in. Depending on your arrival time, after you have settled, your driver will take you in Old town to meet your guide. Guided tour is led by our tour guide with years of experience whose passion for the city will be evident as you walk through these ancient streets and marvel to the rich architectural ensemble all around you. The guided tour lasts for about a 2 hours. After the walking tour you can enjoy in a local cafe, restaurant or many crafts and shops. At agreed place your driver will wait for you to take you back to your hotel.
After breakfast, it’s time to explore one of the 8 national parks in Croatia. National park Mljet is situated on the island of Mljet. Since the national park is on the island the only possible way to get there is by boat. This private trip lasts 8 hours. Once you are there, meet with your guide and start with a private tour of national park. If you love unspoiled nature, woods and crytal clear sea this is place to be. Discover local food and enjoy in lunch and local wines. Relax at a beach bar or enjoy one last swim before the journey back to Dubrovnik. At agreed place your driver will wait for you to take you back to your hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. In the late afternoon, hop aboard a cable car and ride to the top of Srđ Mountain for stunning views of Dubrovnik and the nearby Elafiti Islands. For some exercise, you can walk back down the hill while enjoying views of the city below. Overnight in the hotel.
Today, we are heading to Split with stops in Ston, Peljesac peninsula and magnificent hidden gem Neretva Valley.
Ston is a small town that presented the border of former Dubrovnik Republika. The walls will overwhelm you, for sure, so a quick walk through the town will confirm that you made the best decision coming there. You will have some free time to walk along the walls or just have a cup of coffee in calm, but mighty town.
Now, it is time to get on the wooden boat with oyster farmer and ride through the bay of Mali Ston till reaching the oyster beds. You will get to know all the details of oyster farming and taste some oysters directly from the sea, along with local wine that adds on an unforgettable taste. This is unforgettable experience, taste of oysters is unique, they are very tender and full of taste. People who usually don’t eat oysters if they dare to try them they are left astonished and wanting for more. The estimated time of this tasting session is 45 minutes.
Then we are heading to Komarna in Rizman Winary for wine tasting and experience unforgettable moments and breath-taking winegrowing area and the Pelješac peninsula. The estimated time of this tasting session is 45 minutes.
After wine tasting experience we are moving to magnificent Neretva Valley! We are starting with Photo safari which is a unique tourist experience in which guests are driven by indigenous Neretva vessels (small wooden boats from which are some even a 100 years old) for a leisurely cruise through the surrounding wetlands (with local snacks on board) . On Your way discover the places where once the ancient Illyrians, Greeks, Romans sailed, and the pirates of Neretva planned their raids of enemy galleys. Discover the allure of one of the last swamps on the European continent, its flora and fauna, the diversity of wild birds and the traditional lifestyle of the Neretva people. The estimated time of this tour is 2 hours. End up at a beautiful local restaurant overlooking the water for local dishes. Board the boats to return to Opuzen where your driver will wait for you. Late afternoon arriving in Split. Overnight in the hotel.
After breakfast, your driver will take you to Split center where you’ll meet your captain and start an island-hopping tour by cruiser boat that covers all the highlights of the area. Enjoy visiting the unique Blue Cave, swimming in Stiniva Cove, snorkeling in the lagoon of the Budikovac Island, lounging in one of the bars on Pakleni Islands and exploring the old town of Hvar.
On the way we will stop for wine tasting in Dubokovic-Medvid winery, one of the country’s leading boutique winemakers whose signature Plavac mali is superb. Make the most of your time here, wander the streets of Hvar, perhaps even stop at one of the local restaurants to taste some exquisite food. You will return to Split late in the afternoon and enjoy a short ride to your hotel. Overnight in the hotel.
After breakfast, your guide will meet you for 2 hours sightseeing and walking tour in the heart of Dalmatia – Split. Enjoy a sightseeing tour featuring historic inner city, built around the Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Then see the remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle, and the Cathedral. Free time for swiming and relaxing on a beach.
Late afternoom your driver and guide will take you a short distance outside of Split to Trogir – a treasury of cultural and historical monuments dating as far back as the 4th Century BC. Set on a small island just off the mainland, Trogir was first settled by the ancient Greeks, before falling under the Romans and later the Byzantines. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, Old Town Trogir is surrounded by a fortress wall with two gates and is connected to the mainland by a bridge. Your guide will show you the Gradska loza (the Old City Hall) from the 15th Century, the city walls, and the Kamerlengo Castle, which was once the residence of the Venetian governor. On the sea-side of the island, you may see the Sea Gate, which was built in the 16th Century, and the nearby old fish market, located in an open loggia, surrounded by a colonnade. After sightings we are moving forward for lunch in local restaurant. Enjoy some time at your leisure to browse the small shops and cafes in Trogir, before heading to Split. Overnight in the hotel.
Today, we are heading to cascading waterfalls, clear turquoise lakes and cathedral-like forest canopies weave together to form Plitvice Lakes National Park. Sitting in perfect complement to the regal beauty of the Adriatic Sea, your understanding of Croatia would be incomplete without a stroll through this majestic UNESCO Natural Heritage Site. The entire park sprawls out over 12,000 acres, with walking trails leading you under spruce and fir, through delicate meadows and up onto rock cliffs perched dramatically around pristine lakes. Follow your chosen path through this surreal natural wonderland, enjoying your final full day in the country on a 4 hours guided tour. Pause for a picnic or perhaps a glass of wine on a secluded sunny patch of moss, before wandering beneath a waterfall as you gradually make your way back. After sightseeing transfer from Plitvice to Zagreb, free time for leisure and overnight. Overnight in the hotel.
Day 7 – Zagreb Goodbye
If you have a free morning before departing, make like a local and visit one of the many café-bars in central Zagreb. Try the pedestrianized section around Bogovićeva and Preradovićeva or the popular Tkalčićeva street for a morning coffee and pastry and to people watch before you say farewell to Zagreb and head to the airport. Driving time (Central Zagreb to the airport): 30 minutes
